Crystals
Crystals are mineral formations that develop over millions of years. Their ordered geometric structure gives them, according to many spiritual traditions, particular energetic properties. Crystal healing (the use of stones for well-being) draws on these traditions. Whether you believe in their vibrational energy or simply in their beauty and symbolic power, working with crystals is an accessible, sensory and deeply personal practice.

Amethyst (purple) is the stone of intuition, mental clarity and protection, ideal for meditation and peaceful sleep. Clear quartz amplifies energy and clarifies intentions, often called 'the master crystal.' Labradorite (iridescent grey) protects the energetic field and stimulates intuition and creativity. Moonstone (pearly white) is associated with feminine cycles, intuition and emotions. Rose quartz is the stone of unconditional love, of gentleness toward oneself and others. Pyrite (golden) is associated with self-confidence, prosperity and grounding.
To choose a crystal: trust your instinctive attraction. The one that makes you stop and look is often the one you need. To cleanse (reset a stone's energy): expose it to full moon light, run it under flowing water (caution, some stones are soluble (jasper and quartz yes, malachite or selenite no)), or use sage smoke. To use your crystals: wear them on you, place them in your meditation space, slip them under your pillow at night, or simply hold them in your hands for a few minutes when you feel the need.
How can you tell if a stone is real or synthetic?
A natural stone is generally cool to the touch and slightly irregular. Synthetic crystals are often too perfect, too uniform. To buy with confidence: prefer specialist shops that indicate provenance, mineralogical markets, or reputable online sellers with certifications. A very low price is often an indicator of poor quality or a falsely labeled stone.
Can crystals really heal or cure?
Crystals are not medical remedies and never replace medical care. They are complementary well-being tools: many people use them to support their emotional balance, their meditation or their living space. The effects belong to personal experience, not to scientifically proven efficacy.
Do you need many crystals to start?
Not at all. Start with one or two stones you genuinely feel a connection with. A collection that accumulates without conscious intention loses symbolic power. Better to work deeply with a clear quartz or an amethyst than to accumulate a dozen stones with no link to your practice.
